Grupul Scolar Energetic,
founded in 1966 as Liceul Energetic, was subsequently called Liceul Industrial
No.1, and at present its name is GRUP SCOLAR INDUSTRIAL ENERGETIC SIBIU.
Grupul Scolar Industrial Energetic is an educational institution, where
the technical culture has merged successfully with the human one, having
at its disposal suitable material resources.
Nowadays, our school represents the main training centre in the field
of electricity in the region (by its material and human resources and
its accomplishments), being at the same time also extremely competitive
in the IT field, whose material resources are continuously being developed
and modernized. The school had initially a double subordination:
- The Ministry of Education and Research– involved mainly in the
educational and teaching management.
- The Ministry of Electrical Energy – involved in equipping the
school, the practical training of the students and providing them with
jobs. This system resembled the „dual education system”, which
is successfully practised nowadays in advanced countries (e.g. Germany).
n the period 1966-1976 the school was called Liceul Energetic, between 1976-1990 Liceul Industrial No.1, and since 1990 till nowadays Grupul Scolar Industrial Energetic; at present the leadership is lobbying for the school to be considered a College.
The programs of the high school have been permanently adapted to the studends' demands and the evolution on the labour market. The school has continued to belong to the technical branch, but the specializations have been permanently adapted to the already mentioned needs. Amongst some of the programs and specializations offered by the high school throughout, we can mention the following ones: electromechanics, electroenergetics, mechanics. Since 1990 new specializations have been established: electronics, mathematics-physics, mathematics - informatics. Something important that could also be mentioned is the fact that after 1990 the tradition of the classes with German as teaching language has been resumed.
The programs and specializations offered by the vocational school, apprentice school and foreman school, or post-high school have been the following: electrotechnics, winder electrician, auto-electrician, CSR electrician, office automation operator. The forms of organization were also diversified.
The school offered classes of:
- High School: day
- High school: evening (till 2004)
- Vocational School (1972-1976 and since 1980 till the dissolution of
this form)
- Apprentice School (1970-1976; 1991-1993)
- Foreman School (1983-1985; 1991-1994; 1997-1998; 2006-2008)
- Post-high school (1994-1996;1998-2000)
- School of Crafts and Trades (since 2004).
